Ksa aims to improve recording in player files

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Dutch Gaming Authority organized a round table discussion in May on improving the recording in player files. Almost all online providers attended the discussion. A sound player file is essential for the Ksa in its supervision.
Providers of online gambling create player files in which, among other things, transaction data, analyses of gaming behavior and contact moments with the player are included in a pseudonymized form. The Ksa can request these files for its supervision, for example when there are signals of major losses by a player. The file must then show whether and how the provider intervened in such a case.
Since October 2021, the Ksa has conducted various file investigations at multiple providers, in which a large number of player files have been viewed. Through these investigations, the Ksa gains insight into what providers in the market are doing well and where there are still areas for improvement.
One of the insights was that there are differences in the market in how and what is recorded in the player file. The Ksa therefore organized this round table, shared five points of attention for good recording and discussed this with the providers. The underlying idea behind the conversation was that improved recording for providers leads to better substantive files, which in turn helps the Ksa to strengthen its supervision and protect players.
The Ksa has recorded the five focal points for good recording in a document and added various questions asked at the round table.
