Liberia Looks to Get in on the Action

15 October 1999
The Gaming Board of Liberia announced this week that it's stepping into the Net betting businesses via plans to operate a government run online gaming site. The Board has issued a request for proposal (RFP) to potential partnering Internet gaming software providers, marketing and advertising services, and Internet gaming site providers.

Using its internationally respected reputation for maritime regulation as an example, the Board wants to now offer a "Government Run Gaming and Wagering Global Village" by promoting multi-nation government games online. Their plans include offering free sweepstakes or advertiser-paid prize games to citizens whose nations permit their play.

The deadline for the RFP is December 15, 1999. For more information, visit the Board's site at www.tgbliberia.com.
