Lottomatica’s Rhode Island subsidiary, Gtech Corporation, will take the place of Intralot S.A., the Greek lottery operator and gaming technology provider, as the operator of Chile’s state lottery, according to Thomson Financial News.
The Italian lottery operator’s unit will oversee the provision and maintenance of the lotto’s Internet-technology infrastructure.
Intralot, which has been in a seven-year contract with Chile, was quoted by the news service as saying that the contract “was not financially significant and legal issues must still be resolved.”
