Last year Macau’s gaming revenues jumped 31 percent, year on year, to a record 108 billion patacas, The Macau Daily Times reported on Tuesday.
Statistics from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, which the paper cited, show that gaming revenue from the former Portuguese enclave came in at 83.8 billion patacas -- up 40 percent over 2006.
According to the bureau, the number of casinos has nearly tripled since 2003 to 31.
