Macau Chief Predicts 2009 Revenue Falls

15 August 2008

On Friday, Macau’s chief executive speculated that Macau gaming revenues could fall in 2009, according to the South China Morning Post.

"We can't be too optimistic about next year's economic development,” said Edmund Ho, Macau chief executive, to the Hong Kong newspaper. “A lot of unstable factors have emerged in the global markets. It will not be surprising if income from some sectors, such as the gaming industry, records negative growth next year, as it had grown at a high speed in the past.”
