Casino operators in Macau are interested in building hotels and casinos in the Philippines on reclaimed land near Manila Bay that will be called PAGCOR Entertainment City, according to The Philippine Star.
"I have just been to Macau, and three Macau casino operators told me they want to invest in the Philippines," Ambassador Francis Chua special envoy on China trade and investments told The Star.
"It will be big," Chua added. "It will definitely reach billions because they will build hotels that are comparable to the ones in Macau."
Pagcor's chairman and CEO Ephraim Genuino has states that as much as $20 billion would be spent to develop the Entertainment City, which he likened to "a Las Vegas in the Philippines."
