Man Plays 74-hour Poker Game

19 September 2008

Managing to play poker for more than 72 hours can be a somewhat daunting task. Ask record-breaker Dave Cain.

According to The Publican, Mr. Cain began showing signs of fatigue and confusion at one point during his non-stop charity tournament at the United Kingdom’s The Library Bar, where he raised £10,000 and allegedly made it into the world record books.

“Just to clarify things, I decided to bring the attempt to an end at about 10:30 last night, so the record is well and truly broken but not by as far as I was aiming. However it’s still a world record at 74ish hours,” he wrote in a statement on www.pokerplayingmarathon.com.

“As usual, I will be completely honest and up front about what happened, so I won't hide the fact that my decision to bring it to an end was mainly based on health grounds.”
