Ministers from over 30 countries assembled in Royal Ascot Tuesday at the invitation of Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Tessa Jowell to discuss international issues relating to remote gaming. It had been hoped that some sort of framework agreement could be reached on key principles of the regulation of online, interactive TV and mobile phone gambling. The key issues for the DCMS are protecting the young and vulnerable, making remote gaming safe for users and keeping it free of crime.
