While profits dropped 69 percent for MGM Mirage in its second quarter, the casino behemoth has announced plans to expand its VIP tables for its high rollers in Macau.
According to Bloomberg, the company wants to more than double -- taking VIP tables from 70 to 150 -- in its Macau location by the end of the year. The tables cater to patrons who spend $124,000 during each visit.
"We have determined it would be important to add more VIP tables," Terrence Lanni, Chief Executive Officer, told Bloomberg. "On balance, we're not pleased with the past performance of our property in Macau, but we believe that we are taking the necessary steps.
"Since we have incorporated MGM Mirage marketing in June this year, we have doubled our VIP in-house business, and we think that can continue to grow," he added.
