A bingo hall in South Tyneside, a town in North East England, which is exceptionally talented with raising funds for a children's mobility charity has already surpassed its annual goal for the charity, reports The Shields Gazette.

Members of Mecca Bingo in Dean Road, South Shields, have raised raised £4,000 for Whizz-Kidz, a charity that provides customized mobility equipment to children and young people with disabilities. The bingo group's goal was to beat £3,500 by the end of the year

Nationally, the Mecca Bingo Club wants to raise £250,000 for the charity and is only £32 away from its goal.

Ruth Owen, chief executive of Whizz-Kidz, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the charity.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the enthusiasm and inventiveness of the Mecca team and club members in raising more than a quarter of a million pounds to support young wheelchair-users' independence," Ms. Owen told the newspaper.
