Despite the recession crippling most of the world, more and more young women in West Fife, Dunfermline, Scotland, are crowding into bingo halls, reports the Dunfermline Press.
Over the past 12 months more than 500 new female patrons under the age of 30 in Dunfermline have begun to choose bingo halls as their primary source of entertainment, according to figures taken from Carlton Bingo at Fife Leisure Park.
Most of the women say it beats an expensive night on the town and it comes with the chance to win money.
"The way the economy is, the option is there to come here and have a good night out that is hassle free as well," Shaun Gibson, manager of Carlton Bingo, told the newspaper. "When money is short you have a chance of winning some money for not a tremendous amount of outlay."
