Movement in the House
6 April 2000
he U.S. House Internet Gambling Prohibition Act, HR 3125, was moved today from the Committee on the Judiciary to the full House by a 21-8 vote. The legislation is the companion piece for Senator Kyl's prohibition bill, which passed in November 1999. The only change made to the bill was a motion offered by Rep. Pease of Indiana to prohibit the sale of lottery tickets to private individuals by Internet. Wholesalers, such as 7-11, still will be able to buy the tickets online.
