PARTNERING Through a new partnership, GameAccount, a skill-game developer, will be providing Cogetech S.p.A. , an Italian betting firm, with skill games for its horse racing and sports betting Web site.

“We are enthusiastic and very confident about our new partnership and being able to rely on a first-class network -- essential for the success of a product,” said Fabio Schiavolin, chief executive of Cogetech S.p.A.

The skill-base games that the Milan company will offer includes multiplayer blackjack, poker dice, gin rummy, backgammon and dominoes.

DELISTED, AGAIN Magna Entertainment Corporation, a horse racecourse owner and operator, will be delisted from Nasdaq on March 16, the company said on Monday.

Last week Magna Entertainment filed for bankruptcy protection in the United States and Canada because of mounting debt and interest expense. The Canadian operator said it does not plan to appeal Nasdaq’s decision.

LOBBYING During the fourth quarter, The American Gaming Association, the trade organization that represents companies like MGM Mirage, spent $368,000 fighting for Internet gambling issues in Washington D.C., according to the Associated Press.

The news service said that the association focused on legislation aimed at legalizing and regulating I-gaming in the United States.

In January, Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., the organization’s chief executive, told IGamingNews during a desktop conference that Harrah's Entertainment Inc., owner of the popular World Series of Poker franchise, and others would be pressing for Internet gambling during the 111th Congress.

According to American Gaming Association’s Web site, Thomas J. Matthews, chairman and chief executive of International Game Technology, and Stephen A. Wynn, chairman and chief executive of Wynn Resorts Ltd. are just two of the 13 members on the organization’s board of directors.
