NEW OFFERING
WagerWorks,
International Game Technology's online subsidiary, has announced that it now has the ability to supply games to operators through the
Finsoft Platform.
Finsoft, a sports betting solutions provider and Gtech Corporation subsidiary, has already integrated some of WagerWorks' games on its system, the companies said on Thursday.
"This development strengthens Finsoft’s game portfolio and broadens the accessibility of WagerWorks games to operators in the market," said Oliver Lofthouse, WagerWorks' director and general manager, in a prepared statement.
SPONSORING
In a deal with Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic, 188Bet, the online sports book and gaming firm, became the first company to sponsor two Premier League clubs, according to Reuters.
"We were looking for a unique opportunity to mark 188BET's first major foray in the U.K. market, and feel that the collaborative engagement with both Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic shall help us to further grow the strength of our brand," Andy Scott, the betting company's chief executive, was quoted by Reuters as saying.
The group's logo will appear on both teams' shirts, but according to Wigan Today, Wigan Athletic and 188BET decided that the gambling site's logo will not appear on youth, children's and infant replica shirts as well as shirts worn by youth teams representing Wigan Athletic.
THE WAITING GAME
Hop-on Inc., a California-based wireless phones and accessories developer, has announced its intention to release an iPhone application for real-time casino-style games upon approval of Barney Frank's Internet gambling legislation.
Although Apple does not allow gambling games in its online application store, Peter Michaels, Hop-on's president and chief executive told Gaming Industry Media that his app would use a browser-based workaround that would make it possible for real-money gaming.
In addition to a real-money game, Mr. Michaels said that Hop-on is already in the process of submitting play-for-fun interactive games including poker, blackjack, roulette and slot games for Apple's approval.
