SIGNING On Monday, PartyGaming said it will be creating a bingo and casino service for DM, a London-listed direct marketing group.

“We are pleased to announce that DM has joined our ‘white label’ portfolio just a few weeks after we signed an agreement with Cirsa to explore and develop online gaming opportunities in Spanish speaking countries,” said Jim Ryan, the company’s chief executive, in a company statement.

PartyGaming said DM will promote the service using its own marketing channels.

“DM welcomes this exciting opportunity to make our assets work harder by offering customers exciting and entertaining online bingo and casino games,” said Adrian Williams, chairman of DM.

CRACKDOWN In the United Kingdom, stricter rules for sports betting could be in the works that would call for professional sportsmen to register bets, reports The Telegraph.

According to the newspaper, Gerry Sutcliffe, the sports minister, is discussing with sporting authorities the possibility of tighter regulations due to an onslaught of alleged match-fixing and illegal betting cases.

“Match fixing is as great a risk to the integrity of sports as doping,” Tim Payton, spokesperson for a coalition of U.K. sporting governing bodies,” told the Telegraph. “That is why the sports have been campaigning for a greater regulation of sports betting for some time.”

APPOINTING Last week Initial Rewards appointed Hilly Ehrlich, formerly the head of poker networks at PartyPoker, to its board of directors.

The loyalty program and promotional merchandise company said in a statement that the move to add to its board will broaden the company’s industry connections “overnight.”

“With this appointment, Initial Rewards is tapping into a huge range of industry decision makers,” said Lee Reuben, the company’s director, in a company statement. “Hilly’s expertise and long-standing relationship with so many people across the industry will introduce new opportunities for Initial to cement their position as the original and the best in the loyalty game.”

LAUNCHING This month Platinum Play Bingo said it will unveil a new Web site design and logo in order to streamline operations. The site, part of the Fortune Lounge Group, said the redesign focused on usability and functionality.

In other online bingo news, Golden Hat Bingo, an online bingo site, has launched this week, WhichBingo reports. According to Golden Hat Bingo’s site, it’s owned by Alderney-based Golden Hat Games and runs on a Virtue Fusion platform.
