DOWN TO THE WIRE Spin3, the mobile gambling operator with ties to Microgaming Software Systems Ltd., has agreed to provide Fortune Lounge Group with its GameWire suite of casino games.

The mobile platform allows players to access 14 interactive, real-money games on mobile phones. Games include baccarat, roulette, three-card poker, football-themed scratch ‘n’ score and major millions, a progressive slot machine game with a current jackpot of more than £900,000.

A spokesperson for Fortune Lounge said in a prepared statement: “After launching Royal Vegas Mobile Casino last year, we think the time is right to extend our mobile casino offering with another brand. By becoming the first operator with two mobile casinos on offer, we are taking a big step in securing ourselves as the leaders in the mobile casino market."

SCOUT'S HONOR? A Major League Baseball bookmaking investigation has linked “seven or eight” scouts to Frank Falzarano, a Long Island bookie who plead guilty in April to felony enterprise corruption and gambling charges, ESPN.com reports.

According to the news site, the alleged scouts are being probed “for placing bets and not for being involved in the bookmaking operation.” Most of Mr. Falzarano’s clients placed bets over the phone and online.

LEACH LOVE In a surprise move, one of the minds behind the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act came out Tuesday in support of Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential hopeful.

“We will have more of the same,” Jim Leach, the Iowa Republican, said in reference to Senator John McCain, according to the Associated Press.

The I-gaming industry would not be mistaken in viewing this as ironic, especially given analysts' predictions that, were Mr. Obama to be installed, the administration would be friendlier to Internet gambling policy.
