Make It Two -- In its second deal of the week, Taiwan-based software supplier GigaMedia has entered a strategic partnership with and investment in South Korean casual games development studio NeoStorm Holdings. "NeoStorm is a game development powerhouse," said GigaMedia President Thomas Hui. "We are excited to partner with them and continue strengthening our portfolio of world-class entertainment content." Financial details were not disclosed.
Forward Looking -- CryptoLogic said earlier this week that it expects results for the fourth quarter to come in at the upper end of the guidance it gave on Nov. 8. In its third-quarter report, the company projected fourth-quarter revenues of between $17.5 million and $18.5 million, with net earnings between $2 million and $3 million.
Sentenced -- Jonathan Roman Rivera, convicted murderer of former CWC Gaming Chief Executive Adam Anhang, was on Thursday sentenced to 105 years in prison by a Puerto Rican Court. "I'm not involved in this," the AP quoted Rivera as saying when asked by Judge Abelardo Bermudez if he had any final remarks. According to the report, a jury convicted Rivera of first-degree murder in October "despite a lack of forensic evidence and the last-minute appearance of a defense witness who said another man had committed the crime."
Fantastic Fixed Odds -- Gextech and Ladbrokes have launched their Fantastic League virtual football fixed-odds betting product online. The product was previously available in Ladbrokes' chain of shops. The simulated games, which run on GexTech's Smart Stitch technology, provide the same betting opportunities as live football.
Carlos Goes Live -- Software supplier Evolution has launched Carlos Place online casino, one of Parabol UK's online offerings. Maria Holdings, which operates the Carlos and Parabol brands, was acquired by Unibet this month for £54 million.
Stock Watch -- On the LSE, 888 was down 2.25p to 129.00, Neteller was up 3p to 59.50 and Playtech was up 8p to 387.00.
