Under Construction -- The British Channel Island of Jersey moved closer to its goal of becoming a full-fledged I-gaming jurisdiction with the appointment of a Shadow Gambling Commission, extending the reach of the land-based betting licensing body already in place. The Commission commenced work last Friday and plans to install a licensure and regulatory scheme, to which operators must apply and submit. The three-member Commission is headed by Graham White, former Chief Inspector for the U.K. Gambling Commission.

PacNet Grabs Majority Share of PacGames -- Asia-facing e-biz solutions provider PacificNet announced today that it has acquired an additional six-percent interest in PacificNet Games Ltd. (PacGames). The company, now a 51 percent shareholder of PacGames, said the investment in PacGames would enhance its entry into the new high-margin gaming technology business.

Launched -- I-gaming provider Chartwell today announced the launch of its Euro-style 32 Card Poker product in Flash technology.

Re-Launched -- U.K.-based bookmaker Totesport today announced the launch of its revamped Web portal, powered by Orbis gaming technology.
