New Aussie Ban -- Legislation banning betting exchanges passed through Western Australia's parliament Thursday--a move that Racing and Gaming Minister Mark McGowan said will strengthen the integrity of the state's racing industry. Racing Board Chairman Bob Pearson also lauded the move, stating "I commend [McGowan] . . . for heeding the industry's concerns and acting in such a decisive fashion."

I-Lotto in Fla. . . . Sort of -- Florida Lottery officials reported Thursday that the lottery's Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets are illegally up for bid on eBay. Security personnel with the lottery contacted eBay, requesting that the site and the auctioneer immediately close down the ticket auction. Not only did the auction contravene eBay's own policies, officials said, but also Florida Statute 24.117, which prohibits the sale of tickets by any entity not under contract with the Florida Lottery as an authorized lotto retailer. The official drawing for the game is Jan. 1, 2007.

Appointed -- Online casino 32Red has appointed Martin Saunders to its board of directors.

Annulled -- Germany-based mobile solutions provider Paybox Premiere announced Thursday the termination of its partnership with U.S. gaming firm Magnabet as well as the shutdown of their joint gambling channel, Premiere Win. Paybox said that regulatory uncertainty in the United States necessitated the move.

Acquired -- Payment collection network Paypoint announced today its acquisition of payment processor Metacharge.
