Cognized Away -- Payment processor Neteller said that it planned to cut 250 jobs as part of its "rationalization program," following its recent withdrawal from the United States. "Staff reductions will total around 200 employees, across all levels, from the group's contact center and security teams, as well as related support functions in marketing, processing and IT," the company said regarding its Calgary-based operation. The company also said it planned to cut 30 jobs in the United Kingdom. "The events of the past months have led to challenging times for the group and the board has taken measures to ensure the group has a sustainable business going forward," said Neteller CEO Ron Martin.

Keep It Like a Secret -- Various news sources reported on Thursday that Dr. Errol Cort, Antigua's minister of finance, had filed a new complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over reported leaks from U.S. officials concerning a confidential, preliminary report by the WTO. The report, issued by the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body, was due to be released this week, news sources said. "The WTO had specifically said to all parties that … no party should say anything in respect of the matter," said Cort. "Unfortunately the [United States] has gone and they have said a lot of things and we have protested."
