$1 Million Short -- Stephen Lawrence , one of the two founders of Neteller arrested and charged last week with money laundering, posted $4 million of the $5 million bail in New York on Friday. Lawrence, former chief executive of the payment processing firm, was arrested in the Virgin Islands but flew to New York on Thursday night. Lawrence and Neteller co-founder John LeFebvre were arrested last Monday on money laundering charges in relation to NETeller's role of transferring funds with the intent to promote illegal gambling. Lawrence appeared before U.S Magistrate Douglas F. Eaton Friday in the U.S District Court of the Southern District of New York, U.S. Attorney spokesperson Rebekah Carmichael said. Conditions of Lawrence's bail require him to establish a residence in New York and he cannot leave the five boroughs of the city. His passport has been suspended and will be under pretrial supervision. The remaining $1 million of Lawrence's bail must be submitted by his trial date. Meanwhile, LeFebvre, who was arrested at his Malibu, Calif., home, posted $5 million bail on Wednesday and is restricted to central California unless traveling to face trial in New York. Both men are schedule to appear in court on Jan. 26.

Suspended -- Turkey's top administrative court has suspended a sports-betting contract awarded to Inteltek , a joint venture between Athens-based gaming company Intralot and Turkish mobile company Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS , reports Bloomberg. Inteltek has been ordered to stop operations within one month, but the decision can be appealed, Intralot told the news source in an e-mail. Shares in Intralot, which owns 45 percent of the joint venture, fell 14 percent to 24.36 euros upon news of the decision. The case reportedly stems from a complaint filed by Lottomatica SpA's Gtech, which lost out to Inteltek for a Turkish sports-betting contract in 2003. Gtech is seeking to prove that the process that led to the award of the contract was flawed in hopes the government will hold another tender process in which it would participate.
