DECK THE HALLS Parlay Entertainment Inc., a bingo software provider, is collaborating with Norsk Bingo A.S. to bring its software into to bingo halls throughout Norway.

In the fall of 2008, Norsk deployed the first 20 of what will soon be 2,000 touch-screen tabletop kiosks in 30 bingo halls, the company said. According to Parlay, game play and access is controlled by radio frequency cards, which let players activate their accounts and manage financial transactions.

“Norwegians have a great love for bingo, and this gives them the opportunity to enjoy a new dimension of the game,” Lars Bakken Elvsveen of Norsk Bingo said in a prepared statement.

Perry Malone, chief technical officer and co-founder of Parlay Entertainment, called the partnership “a new direction” for land-based and online bingo industries.

“(The collaboration) is further evidence of the wide-ranging convergence that is sweeping through this sector,” he added. “An innovative offering like this can help reinvigorate the land-based industry, whilst at the same time bring online bingo to a wider audience.”

SIGNING Visionary iGaming, a supplier of live online gaming solutions, will be providing BlackOrchidCasino.com with its live online casino, the company announced on Thursday.

The new licensing agreement comes one week before Visionary iGaming will debut its live gaming solutions at the International Gaming Expo in London, the company said.

According to Visionary iGaming, it will provide the new operator with its Flash-based live casino games, along with 60 table, slots and video poker games.

“We expect that BlackOrchid’s marketing team will build a strong live online casino brand in Europe,” said Martin Reiner, chief executive of Visionary iGaming.

MOBILE COMBAT Probability has unveiled its new gaming platform, which now includes person-to-person mobile gaming for the first time, the company said.

As a result of nine months of research and development, the “Zaphod” platform utilizes the internet connections provided to mobile phones, the company explained in a news release. A matching engine on the platform brings players together to compete on the games at a price and skill level compatible with each player.

In contrast to its existing offering, the company said that the games will enable it to generate revenues through charging players a small fee rather than acting as the house as it does with traditional casino games.

Already tested and approved by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, Probability’s head-to-head mobile Texas hold ‘em poker will be the first to launch on the new platform.

The new platform also offers the potential for Probability to make use of its recently signed contract with Hasbro. The company said it plans to feature additional head-to-head games like Connect4, which it said could be released later in 2009.

“We see the development of this new platform as a strategic investment in the future capability of our business, which could significantly enhance earnings potential in the medium term," Charles P. Cohen, Probability’s chief executive, said in a prepared statement.

“Not only is this a unique service in the gaming industry, but by aligning it to the brands such as Connect4, it is also has potential mass appeal,” he added.
