Coordination -- Two major players in the regulation of online gaming, the Kahnawáke Gaming Commission (KGC) and the Antigua and Barbuda Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Monday that allows for mutual assistance to enhance the regulations on existing and prospective licensees in both jurisdictions. Under the MOU, the KGC and FSRC have agreed to a free exchange of information, but each request for information will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to determine whether assistance is appropriate and permissible by the laws of each jurisdiction. "Given the global nature of the online industry, it is important that regulating authorities develop ways in which they can coordinate their activities," said Alan Goodleaf, KGC Chairperson. "We believe that this MOU will assist the regulators in both Kahnawáke and Antigua and Barbuda in the performance of their duties and we hope that other jurisdictions will follow suit."

Farewell -- Greg Nichols, CEO of the British Horseracing Board, announced his resignation Monday but denied he has been pushed. His resignation will take affect in the summer when the governing body will be restructured, but he has agreed to stay on board until a suitable replacement has been chosen. He said the events of 2005, including the High Court defeat by William Hill over payment for racing data, had nothing to do with his decision. "It was purely my decision to leave and I've come to that decision because I couldn't commit myself to the long-term project as I wasn't prepared to go beyond 2007," he said.

Z4P's UK License -- Zone4Play, Inc. , a developer of interactive software and technology for the betting and gaming industry, has been granted a UK bookmaker license that will help the company to distribute its gambling products to end users. It will be initially used in participation TV segment offerings. "We are thrilled to receive our UK bookmaker license," said Shimon Citron, president and CEO of Zone4Play. "The recent change in the gambling laws positions the UK as the fastest growing e-gaming market in the world.
