All Those in Favor, Say "Regulation" -- A survey conducted by online poker site PKR.com and U.K. news portal YouGov.com revealed that 63 percent of the 4,630 U.K.-based respondents supported the U.K. government's plans to regulate online gambling. The report, entitled Poker U.K. 2007, also said that the popular perception of poker is changing—from gambling to mainstream entertainment activity.

Launched -- Spin3 on Tuesday launched GameWire MultiLink, an integration package for its wireless casino system, which allows I-gaming operators to link into and launch the Game Wire mobile gaming platform.

Appointed -- Online gaming group Betinternet today announced the appointment of Edward Comins as chief operating officer of its European Wagering Services business, effective Feb. 6, 2007.

DoJ hot on heels of Google, Yahoo -- The Rumor Mill suggests that Google and Yahoo are receiving pressure from the U.S. Department of Justice to remove online gambling advertisements from their Web sites. Authorities are reportedly alleging that the search engines are indirectly promoting gambling to an underage audience through advertising pop-ups. Igamingbusiness.com reports that Yahoo will effect the ban within the United States. Google, however, has planned to extend the ban globally, the news source said.

Lefebvre's Bail Upheld in New York --A federal judge extended Neteller co-founder John Lefebvre's $5 million bail during a brief hearing today in New York. Under the terms of the bail, Lefebvre, who was arrested last week in California and charged with laundering billions of dollars in gambling wagers, has surrendered his travel documents and is restricted to traveling within parts of New York and California. The judge also set Feb. 14 as the date for the preliminary hearings and as a deadline for the government to file formal charges against Lefebvre and Neteller co-founder Stephen Lawrence, who was also arrested last week and charged with the same crime.
