UNiTAB P2P? -- UNiTAB boss Dick McIlwain has acknowledged that he would not rule out operating a betting exchange, but he has laid out a number of conditions. He said he has been approached by a number of overseas betting exchange operators, but said UNiTAB would not run a renegade betting exchange. He said that if UNiTAB was to operate a betting exchange it would be in unison with its present operation.
Another BAW Team -- Online sports betting company BetandWin has reportedly made a US$13 million offer to Argentina's Boca Juniors football club to put its name on the T-shirt of the current two-time champions of the Argentine league. It is said that the league's Management Commission has approved the proposal, but it still requires the approval of the Assembly of Representatives, which is expected by August 4. The team's current sponsor, Red Megatone Electronics will have to match BetandWin's offer to remain the sponsor.

Williams' First Bracelet -- Team Bodog professional poker player David Williams, 26, has captured his first bracelet by besting 478 players to take the top prize in seven-card stud tournament at the 2006 World Series of Poker. He earned $163,118 for the win. Williams has now won a total of $3,670,823 in three WSOP appearances, earning him the distinction of being the youngest player on the World Series of Poker's "Top Ten" All-Time Money List. Williams ranks seventh on the list just behind poker greats Phil Hellmuth and T.J. Cloutier.
Welcome Aboard -- Ontario-based software development company LiveHive Systems announced today that it has appointed David Brennan as Chief Financial Officer. Brennan has 20 years of financial experience on his resume, including Principal with Canadian-based private equity firm Solowave Investments, Associate Vice President of Finance for PixStream Incorporated and senior manager of investor relations for the Bank of Montreal. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation during his nine-year career with Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers.
