WA Law Now in Effect -- A Washington State law criminalizing online gambling goes into effect today, which means that the state's residents who gamble online could be charged with a Class C felony punishable by a possible five-year sentence and/or a $10,000 fine. One resident told a local radio station that he has an untraceable Internet poker cash card linked to a Swiss bank account, which he can use to withdraw his winnings $1,000 at a time from any ATM. The state's Gambling Commission says that the State most likely won't prosecute players, but will instead focus on operators.
