Legal Stuff -- Richard Blumenthal, the attorney general in Connecticut, decided on Wednesday that the Connecticut Lottery Corp. 's new CD-ROM game is illegal. The game, which is made by Loto Quebec, was to be distributed to lottery players for free with the purchase of a certain number of tickets. Last week, Blumenthal said the game was dangerously close to Internet gambling, even though it does not use the Internet to operate. Yesterday, Blumenthal said the game encourages children to gamble. A spokesman for Loto Quebec told Interactive Gaming News last week that it has sold the game to Iowa and Kentucky, neither of which had a problem with it.
Asian Tidbit -- Stanley Ho told the South China Morning Post yesterday that he has proposed that the Hong Kong Jockey Club buy out the Macau Jockey Club, which Ho owns. Ho said that as far as he knows, the HKJC is considering the proposal.
Tidbit from Europe -- BETandWIN.com Interactive Entertainment AG and its parent company, BAW International Ltd. have decided that the betting site betandwin.com will no longer take bets from U.S. customers.
