HIRING NetPlay TV has hired Jonathan Rigby, a former FCB London managing director, as its brand director, the company announced on Monday.

Mr. Rigby, who has spent a number of years with London advertising agencies, will oversee the brand development and creative output across the NetPlay TV portfolio, which includes SuperCasino.com, Bingos.com and EuroTelemillions.com, NetPlay TV said.

“We're committed to developing our services into solid sustainable brands, or as we prefer to call them 'lovemarks,'” said Martin Higginson, the company’s chief executive, in a company statement. “The digital gaming industry like so many industries has not historically focused on the development of brands, brand loyalty and customer retention.”

SIGNING Net Entertainment A.B. has signed a four-year license agreement with Ålands Penningautomatförening or Paf, the Swedish company said on Monday.

Under the terms of the agreement, Net Entertainment said it will provide Paf with both its download and browser-based version of CasinoModule.

“We have made an important and strategic decision in choosing Net Entertainment as partner for our online casino operation in order to succeed with our internationalization ambition,” said Lars Porko, chief executive at Paf, in a prepared statement.

According to Net Entertainment, the companies are planning the casino launch for the second quarter of 2009.

Also signing: Virtue Fusion, a bingo and networked gaming solutions provider, said it has signed its third long-term licensing agreement with Rank Group.

Through the agreement, Virtue Fusion will provide the United Kingdom bingo operator with bingo and games solutions, the company said.

“We have a great opportunity to grow our interactive business and, as we have had a long and successful relationship with Virtue Fusion, we felt that we were best placed to continue working closely with them to exploit the opportunities within the bingo market,” said Mark Jones, managing director of Rank Interactive, in a prepared statement.

REPORTING Entraction Holding A.B. the software developer and poker network operator said it had a record year last week as it posted year-over-year turnover gains of 47.6 percent.

The Swedish company said net turnover from January 2008 to December 2008 was 346.1 million Swedish kronor. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization decreased by 4.4 percent when compared to the previous year to 54.7 million Swedish kronor, and operating profit dropped by 18.5 percent to 40.1 million Swedish kronor.

The company’s fourth quarter results showed a turnover increase of 43.3 percent when compared to the corresponding period in 2007 to 102.8 million Swedish kronor.

There was an uptick in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased of 8.4 percent to 13.7 million Swedish kronor, and a slight decline in operating profit of 6.4 percent to 10 million Swedish kronor. According to a company statement, the board of directors has proposed a reverse split of shares.
