M&A -- Sportech, owner of Littewoods Gaming, has entered into exclusive negotiations with Ladbrokes regarding the potential £50 million ($96.6 million) acquisition of its Vernons Pools business. If successful, the takeover would give London-listed Sportech control of roughly 90 percent of the pools market in the United Kingdom.
Asia-Facing -- Playtech has secured a deal with Hong-Kong-listed Foundation Group to supply peer-to-peer (P2P) gaming software throughout China. Foundation has recently signed licensing agreements with an operating arm of the Communist Youth League. The organization is responsible for implementing China's "green Internet policy" covering the provision of play-for-cash prizes and P2P games via Internet cafés across the country.
