NEW STUDY A new study by the American Gaming Association, "2009 State of the States," revealed that during the 2008 calendar year, just 2 percent of Americans gambled online.

EXPANDING Victoria Apuestas S.A., the joint venture between William Hill and Codere S.A., is combining forces with Rubio Group in Madrid, the company announced on Tuesday.

According to Gaming Intelligence, Rubio, a gaming center operator, will offer Victoria's sports betting services at eight locations with the potential to add on more in the future.

The sports betting group said in a prepared statement that it hopes to attract new customers and a higher volume of business from this venture.

Last week William Hill said it will be pulling out of the Victoria joint venture due to slow regulatory consents and the economic downturn in Spain.
