SHIRT SPURT Sbobet, the Asia-facing bookmaker licensed on the Isle of Man, is rumored to be nearing a shirt-sponsorship deal with West Ham United, the British Premier League side.

The London Times reports the 18-month deal could be worth £1.9 million.

NO BETS ON LIFE William Hill, a United Kingdom bookmaker, has rejected offers from more than 100 punters interested in placing bets on the assassination of the U.S. president-elect Barack Obama, according to The Times.

“I cannot imagine why any reputable bookmaker would even consider taking such a bet or any punter contemplate placing one," Graham Sharpe, a spokesperson for William Hill, told the Times.

SIGNED World Poker Tour Enterprises Inc. and FullTiltPoker.net announced on Thursday a television sponsorship deal.

Under the agreement, FullTiltPoker.net, an online poker instruction site, will receive title sponsorship and exclusive rights to in-show educational gaming brand integration for 26 new World Poker Tour Season VII episodes scheduled to air on Fox Sports Net in the United States, as well as Season VII episodes that air in Mexico.

“We are delighted to be in partnership with FullTiltPoker.net and bring together two very strong brands with proven global reach and a loyal network of poker fans,” said Steve Lipscomb, founder, president and chief executive of World Poker Tour, in a prepared statement. “This partnership opens more channels to reach new fans and continue feeding the appetite for new poker content.”
