Kudos -- Remote Gambling Association chief Clive Hawkswood is applauding EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson's visit to the United States and his insistence that the U.S. government open its market to European operators. "We were very pleased to hear Commissioner Mandelson's public support for non-discriminatory legislation to regulate gambling in the U.S.," Hawkswood said. "It is in the consumer's interest to have a legitimate and well regulated market. We urge the Commission to ensure that adequate legislation is in place before concluding the current compensation negotiations. U.S. companies are entitled to operate in European markets while we've been forced out of the United States."
Bet24 Bingo -- Internet bingo software supplier Parlay Entertainment Inc. announced on Monday that European Internet bookmaker Bet24 has launched online bingo using Parlay's bingo technology. Bet24's bingo site targets Scandinavian audiences and is available in the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian languages.
Accumulation for DobroSoft -- Online poker software developer DobroSoft Ltd. has launched a new poker network called "GOLD CHIP Network," a host to poker rooms such as Poker World, Sports Interaction Poker, OddsMaker Poker, Miami Poker, Century Poker, Bet On USA, Neo Star Poker, Jon Wood Poker, Superior Poker and Wingows. The company said it hopes to announce acquisitions of additional poker rooms in the near future.
Results: Increase -- Identity management solutions provider GB Group today announced its interim results for the six months ended Sept. 30, 2007. Highlights include a 13 percent increase in group revenue to US$16.3 million for the period, while data authentication revenues increased to $5.7 million (2006: $5.1 million). The company said it expects to continue to generate profits for the remainder of the financial year (ending March 31, 2008).
Results: Decrease -- Asia-facing gaming technology provider PacificNet, Inc. today released un-audited results for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2007, reporting a 7 percent decrease in revenues from last year to $9.8 million. The company attributes the drop off to lower non-core mobile telecom products distribution business in China. Meanwhile, revenues from the company's multi- player electronic gaming machine product line to casino operators reached approximately $1 million for the quarter, an increase of 99 percent over Q2 2007. Other highlights include a gross profit of $2.3 million (a 115 percent increase over Q3 2006).
