Coming to Terms -- Lawyers in the civil case against indicted bookmaker BetonSports (BoS) have reached an agreement for a permanent injunction against the company preventing it from taking bets from the United States. BoS attorney Jeffrey Demerath told U.S. District Judge Carol Jackson today that the parties were still "hammering out the details of one technical issue" regarding language explaining the use domain names and URLs, but the lawyers expect to file the final paperwork no later than Thursday. In the meantime they have asked for an extension of the temporary restraining order, which Jackson granted. Demerath said BoS would be able to use some of their URLs, but not in the U.S. He also made it clear that this agreement is in no way an admission of guilt by his client. Furthermore, he said there is no monetary amount attached to the settlement and this has no bearing on the criminal proceedings, scheduled for January.
