Green Light -- The Administrative Court of the German state of Hessen has overturned an earlier ruling by a lower court preventing bwin subsidiary bwin e.K. from offering its online gambling services in the Bundesland. In a written statement, the court said it considers a ban on Internet-based gaming "technically unfeasible," and therefore regards the ban as essentially null and void. Shares in Vienna-listed bwin were up 2.44 euros, or 10.14 percent, to 26.50 euros.
Coming Soon -- 888 Chief Executive Gigi Levy said its new sports book will launch in key western European markets like Britain and Spain early next year. "We've pushed it to Q1 2008 . . . It's going to be around four or five countries including two major countries," Levy told Reuters Monday. Levy added that the deal would probably run for "two or three years" but would not offer a breakdown of how revenues would be split.
Well-Placed -- Betbrokers has raised £300,000 via a share placing to further develop its data and online services. On Friday, the company announced plans to launch its online poker offering this week.
Acquired -- Following the recent dissolution of takeover talks with Leisure & Gaming, CGTV Games has completed the acquisition of Chengdu Huaxin IT for an undisclosed sum. Last October, the CGTV acquired Gambling Federation Games; and this year, it's raised $29 million for the acquisition of Europe-facing gaming companies.
Enjoy the Ride -- 888's "Enjoy the Game" ad campaign will find its way to taxi-sides in four major U.K. cities. Certain of these cabs are to be operated by "ambassador drivers" -- who, off the job, are dedicated 888.com players -- tasked with promoting the Web site if solicited. Receipts will also feature 888 branding.
Stock Watch -- On the LSE, 888 was up 1p to 131.00, Neteller was up 7.75p, or 10.84 percent, to 79.25 and PartyGaming was up 0.75p to 30.25.
