MOVING UP The Gala Coral Group announced yesterday the promotion of several key employees at the bingo, casino and sports betting operator.
On Oct. 1, Dominic Harrison, currently the company’s chief operating officer, will take over for Neil G. Goulden as chief executive. Mr. Goulden will serve as executive deputy chairman until John M. Kelly steps down as chairman in October 2009. He will then take over Mr. Kelly’s post.
According to a prepared statement, Mr. Kelly has decided to leave the company to pursue other business interests.
“After successfully completing a restructuring of the group’s banking arrangements in May of this year, and the establishment of a new five year plan, I am very excited about the growth opportunities now available to the group,” Mr. Harrison said.
LAUNCHED The online gaming operator BackgammonMasters has launched a new video slot game -- the first in a series of casino games to come.
On the site, users can now access AstroPay, an original BackgammonMaster’s slot game, and play two additional games simultaneously, including poker, blackjack and backgammon.
"We've always been known for our high quality game experience and our superior graphics, the feedback from our players prompted us to offer more of their favorite games, if they're coming to us to play, they know it's going to be superior," said Jay Ryan, BackgammonMasters chief executive, in a prepared statement.
ALSO LAUNCHED Playwin, an India-based online lottery and gaming company, has launched myplaywin.com cards, reports Indian Television.
The gaming cards, which cost 200 Indian rupees, or about $4.37, are said to target new segments of the market. The card can also be used as a purchasing tool on non-game-related products.
“Myplaywin.com cards have been launched to make gaming accessible to wider spectrum of the gaming audience,” said Amar Sinha, chief executive of Pan India Network Infravest, which owns the Playwin brand, in a prepared statement.
