GOOD LUX Tabcorp Holdings, one of Australia’s largest gaming companies, has launched Luxbet.com, a Northern-Territory-based bookmaking firm.

Beginning Oct. 1, the site will feature a racing-, sport- and novelty-product bookmaking business by telephone or online. The site offers opportunities once unavailable to Tabcorp due to regulatory restrictions, which include betting on elections, entertainment events and fixed odds betting up to the jump on all races.

Additionally the site aims to give discretionary payments to each of the New South Wales, or NSW, and Victorian racing industries of 12.5 percent of profits from Luxbet.com.

“Luxbet.com’s willingness to pay race fields fees and to contribute generously to the NSW and Victorian racing industries sets us apart from other bookmakers,” said Robert Nason, Tabcorp’s managing director of wagering, in a prepared statement. “By entering the Northern Territory, we can offer a more complete product range and new betting options.”

EiG UPDATE With the European i-Gaming Congress & Expo only a week away, Clarion Gaming, the event’s organizer, has announced its Legal Roundtable Sessions.

Giving delegates insight to the latest legal and regulatory updates, the roundtable sessions provide a forum where guest speakers can further investigate law and licensing in 20 different countries.

Each 20-minute session will include 10 to 20 participants in a relaxed and interactive environment and will cover a myriad of countries like Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, Ireland, Denmark, Malta, Poland, Latin America, Mexico, South Africa and China.

“Delegates benefit enormously from roundtables, which are often one of the highlights of an event,” said Mark Walker, conference manager, in a prepared statement. “Having legal experts at your disposal for over two hours provides an exceptional chance to ask relevant questions for your business in key countries.”
