PUBLIC PROFIT Sociedade de Jogos de Macau Holdings Ltd., a casino company part-owned by Stanley Ho Hung-sun, last week issued its first set of results as a publicly traded company, recording an 8 percent increase in first-half net profit to $73 million.

After much fanfare, the company floated on the Kong Kong Stock Exchange on July 16, generating $493.5 million.

STREAMING STUFF Bwin Interactive Entertainment, the Vienna-based operator, will be offering comprehensive coverage of the World Series of Poker Europe, currently underway in London.

On its own Web site, Bwin will provide video coverage of the tournaments, a series of video updates on the ongoing tournaments and players, up-to-date background information on the poker event and more.

Bwin's own blogging team will also be on location to report on the action daily as it happens -- directly on the Web site.

TURKISH TENDER Kemal Unakitan, Turkey's finance minister, said at a press conference on Thursday that the country will invite bids next month for a license to run Milli Piyango, the national lottery.

According to published reports, Mr. Unakitan did not give further details but at stake is a 10-year license to operate the lottery. The winner will retain 17 percent of revenue after sales and gambling taxes, according to officials at the state asset sales agency.

Companies expressing interest have included Intralot S.A. of Greece and Turkey's KoƧ Holding. Camelot Group, which operates the United Kingdom's National Lottery, may also bid, as well as Essnet A.B., Tatts Group Ltd., Gtech Holdings Corporation, Lottomatica S.p.A., Osterreichische Lotterien G.m.b.H. (Austrian Lotteries) and Sisal S.p.A.
