EASTERN EUROPEAN GAIN? As global recession buzz heightens in all sectors, one analyst from Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, better known as GBGC, foresees continued gains in eastern European I-gaming.
Tihana Jurican said in a prepared statement that four markets -- Croatia, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic -- will see growth due to the expansion of broadband services and shifts in online gaming regulation.
According the statement, GBGC estimates broadband penetration will reach between 40 percent in Croatia and 65 percent in Poland by 2010 compared to the EU 25 penetration of 70 percent.
The statement goes on to predict strong growth in the online sector during the next five years at an average rate of more than 25 percent in Croatia, more than 40 percent in Slovakia and the Czech Republic and more than 60 percent in Poland.
SIGNED Inspired Gaming Group, the server-based gaming specialist, announced today a multi-year contract to supply Stanleybet International with its virtual sports system.

LAUNCHED Tipp24 A.G., a Hamburg-based lottery service provider, has announced the launch of a new online gaming portal called Tipp24games.
Since Friday, seven games have been available for play on its Web site, including puzzle and trivia skill-based games.
“After a lot of hard work in the implementation phase, customers can now look forward to a new dimension in web-based entertainment with regard to quality and gaming experience,” said Sven Ivo Brinck, managing director of Tipp24. “The distinctive characters and the highly intuitive portal offer something for every taste and guarantee a high standard of gaming enjoyment for our customers.”
Mr. Brinck also noted that additional games will be released regularly on the site.
ALSO LAUNCHED Hosted and maintained by white-label gaming services provider St. Minver, Skill Juice network was introduced as a ten-game Web site.
The recently launched site is a collaborative effort from St. Minver, Boss Media A.B. and Finsoft Ltd. -- all companies under the umbrella of Lottomatica S.p.A. -- with plans in the works for adding both in-house and third-party games.
”There a number of skill game offerings in the market, but we wanted to create the largest scaleable back office and game engine where over a million players could play concurrently in a heads up tournament format,” said Gary Shaw, founder of Skill Juice, in a prepared statement. “Even our games are intended to be different.”
