REPORTING AsianLogic, the online and land-based operator, revealed that total revenues rose 208 percent to $54.9 during the first half of 2008 compared to $17.8 million during the previous-year period.

Gross profits for the Asia-Pacific company came in at $5.7 million, up 338 percent from $1.3 million, while average daily casino turnover was reported at $12.9 million, up 180 percent from $4.6 million.

“We are adapting to and driving market trends through the expansion of our poker and P2P business and foresee that acquisitions such as the Asian Poker Tour and its successful roll out will continue to raise the profile of this renowned card game and benefit AsianLogic's shareholders,” Thomas A. Hall, chief executive of AsianLogic, said in the results.

RETIRING Russell B. Hoyle, Inspired Gaming Group’s executive director, is set to retire Oct. 1, the company announced yesterday.

Mr. Hoyle will continue to serve as chairman as a non-executive director while the company remains in an offer period.

GAMES GALORE Orbis Technology Ltd., a white-label software developer, announced today that a number of its games will be featured on the recently launched Betfair Arcade.

Six Orbis games will be highlighted including blackjack, roulette-style and Las Vegas slot games.

The Betfair arcade opened on Sept. 23 with 60 games total.

OPEN TO U.S. Using Realtime Gaming software, Cherry Red Casino launched yesterday with a suite of more than 80 games including progressive jackpot slots and table games.

The new casino indicated in a prepared statement that it serves customers via a limited range of payment processors, but said that United States players would "be able to use their ewallets."

Cherry Red, as well as the Rushmore Casino, is owned by the Cyprus company Isagro Holdings Ltd.

CHARGED The Agence France-Presse reports that four South Koreans have been charged for running an online gambling ring, which allegedly accumulated $100 million during an 18-month span.

According to the news agency, two additional suspects have apparently fled the country and, in response, Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office will move forward in having them extradited.
