Police broke up an online gambling operation in Taoyuan, Taiwan last week and arrested its manager, according to a story printed in The China Post.
Investigations by a police task force indicated that that the operation, "Lucky City," was headquartered in France and that it provided Chinese versions of its games at its website. Upon his arrest, Ho Hang-ming, reportedly told police that he became the Taiwan manager of the site via an ethnic Chinese Filipino, identified only by his surname of Chen, earlier this year. The story pointed out that Chen was later discovered to be the manager of the entire web site.
All forms of gambling are illegal in Taiwan.
