California based NetBet.com continues to beef up its presence in the Virtual gaming industry. The company's latest move, announced Thursday, is its acquisition of the domain cosp.com and gambling software from CSP Ltd.
The domain is home to the Cook Islands based Casino of the South Pacific Internet gaming site. NetBet previously provided CSP with consulting, technical and financial assistance related to development of the software and maintenance of the site.
NetBet's current operations include the design, development and licensing of interactive software based games of chance and ownership of the Grand Pacific Casino in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. It plans to use the Costa Rican casino for live video streaming and real-time interactive gaming over the Internet.
The gaming software acquired from CSP will complement the software previously acquired from Internet Gaming Inc. (IGI). NetBet's inventory of gaming software now includes video poker, blackjack, video slot machines and bingo. Craps and roulette games are currently being developed by
in-house programming staff and are expected to be available for beta testing in the near future.
The company is presently finalizing negotiations with the its first licensee for the casino gaming software acquired from IGI and CSP. The licensee plans to have a Costa Rica based website which it expects to be operational by mid-November 1999.
The bingo software acquired from IGI is presently under license to two operators of Internet bingo sites: BingoHour (www.bingohour.com), based in Costa Rica, and a recently licensed unnamed Turks and Caicos-based operator which is expected to begin bingo play in October 1999.
