Bookmaker Neville Porter has shut down its Internet and telephone betting operations. Just a few days ago the company suspended trading on its shares due to poor trading.
Bookmaker "In the Birtley office, we trimmed staff back, we cut costs but at the end of the day, it was still a difficult trading position, with the expenses outweighing the profits,” managing director David Neville Porter told nebusiness.co.uk.
Bookmaker Reports indicate the company is discussing internally whether to continue operating at all. For now the company continues to operate from its racecourse pitches in the UK and Ireland.
