A Feb. 8 Reuters' news article reports that Autotote Corporation has signed with British racecourse owner Arena Leisure Plc to operate an online horserace betting service. Arena plans to launch a horseracing and betting website late this year, for which Autotote will provide the online pari-mutuel betting services.
Autotote's busy on the other side of the Atlantic, too. A division of the company, Autotote Systems Inc., has reached a licensing and marketing agreement with PlayandWin Inc. While no launch date has been set, the terms provide for a multi-step roll out of Racingo (R), a pari-mutuel 'bingo-style' race wagering game. An initial launch at North American racetracks is planned with international and Internet expansion to follow.
PlayandWin Inc. holds the exclusive license for the Racingo(R) concept for the Internet as well as North American on and off-track versions of the game. Additionally, PlayandWin Inc. has the right of first refusal to introduce the Racingo(R) concept in other countries and venues (i.e. cruise ship lines, airlines,
