Norway Political Party Aims to Stop Gambling Monopoly

19 August 2008

The second largest party, Norway’s Progressive Party, has promised to allow private operators to set up shop in Norway if it gains power during next year’s election.

The group believes the best way to regulate gambling is to open it up in Norway.

“Our priority is to get private gaming operations including casinos legalized,” Per Sandberg, Progressive Party deputy leader, was quoted by Gaming Intelligence Group as saying. “This is a policy that we have supported for many years."
