Omicron Technologies, Inc., a publicly held Miami-based technology company that arrived on the Net gaming scene last month upon completing a licensing agreement with Global Interactive Ltd., is making an effort to establish itself as a serious player in the industry.
The company signed a joint venture agreement last week with Double Mastery, Ltd, a private Nevis, West Indies corporation to license turn-key Internet gaming software at a low cost to those interested in entering the online gaming industry. Licensees will be supplied with a customized, full-service Internet gaming systems, including virtual casino games and sports betting. The gaming technology will be licensed to independent operators in exchange for a percentage of the net revenues generated by their casino websites.
The joint venture expects to license over 50 casino websites within the next six months and projects revenues in excess of $10 million, with over $1 million going to Omicron.
The name of the company which will develop the gaming system for the joint venture's licensees hasn't been announced, although a spokesperson for Omicron confirmed it's a well-established supplier in the industry.
The ultimate goal for Omicron is to design proprietary software for its licensees, and a big step in making this happen was taken today when the company announced the acquisition of Cyberweb Systems Inc., a private software development company in Vancouver, British Columbia. The deal calls for Omicron to issue 175,000 restricted common shares in exchange for a 100 percent ownership interest in Cyberweb. Specializing in Internet gaming software development, Cyberweb is expected to play a key role in the development of Omicron's Asian Internet casino and sports betting website, "Lucky Eight Casino."
