After nearly seven hours of negotiating on Friday, the Intercontinental Bookmaking Organization and the 2004 Olympic Sports Ethics Commission have come to terms on what presence wagering will have at the upcoming Summer Games. In exchange for the IBO agreeing to withdraw its commercial presence from anywhere within 1,000 meters of all facilities that host Olympic events, the Commission has agreed to include cockfighting--a sport geared specifically for wagering--as an exhibition sport. A 39-pound rooster named "SeƱor Peck-a-lot" has already been penciled in as the favorite at 5-2 odds.
