After launching a lottery and sports betting site, loteriasyapuestas.es, the Spanish National Lottery is pleased with the decision, and told Gaming Intelligence Group the site’s performance "has been extremely positive."
The system was developed by Betware, an online gaming platform provider, and Spain’s Sistemas Técnicos de Loterías del Estado, an information technologies firm for the lottery.
"Nowadays sales through this alternate channel are a must," said Alfonso Pedro Fernández Garcia, New Media Sales, Communications and Logistics Director at STL, to Gaming Intelligence Group. "The rapid growth of Internet penetration that we’ve been witnessing in Spain makes it imperative to implement new sales channels in order to stay competitive."
