The South China Morning Post reports that South Korean authorities said Shun Tak, a Hong Kong-based casino conglomerate, along with other operators such as Genting Group, Las Vegas Sands and MGM Mirage are looking into possibilities of resort and gambling destinations within the country.
Jeju Island will reportedly be home to new gaming businesses, but according to The South China Morning Post, South Korean law only allows tourists to gamble and restricts domestic citizens from doing so. Because of this, operators “remain skeptical,” a source told the paper.
