A newly amended piece of legislation has been introduced in the California Assembly, which will open the way for telephone account betting and could add a fertile market for Television Games Network.
AB 1405, as revised, would add California to the list of eight states that now permit home telephone account wagering. It was introduced by Assemblyman Herb Wesson, who says it would keep California betting money at home rather than have it flow into other states' revenue streams. TVG plans to open its Oregon hub and introduce home wagering sometime in October.
