How far can a great domain name take you? We shall soon see, as Poker.com, a newly formed publicly held company, is gearing up to launch a website featuring real-money multi-player poker.
The company announced last week that it has entered into an agreement with UnitNet Technologies Inc., which has recently purchased multi-player software from ASF Software Inc. Under the terms of the agreement Poker.com will market the site, located at www.poker.com, and derive revenues from marketing and management of the games, banner advertising, opt-in newsletter advertising programs and gaming related services and products such as books and playing cards.
The new site will is expected to go live with real-money multi-player poker around the first of October. Poker.com plans to eventually include a full range of casino-syle games and has had licensing discussions with Startnet, Cryptologic and BossMedia.
The site will also be set up as a portal with free e-mail, free newsletters, links , chat rooms and entertainment news.
Upon going live, Poker.com plans to bring its advertising campaign to off-line media channels.
